Tha sinn a’ faicinn gun robh ar caraid Gillebrìde MacIlleMhaoil, a bhios a’ fuireach anns an Spàinn, air ais ann an Albainn airson “Celtic Connections” ann an Glaschu am mìos sa chaidh. Sheinn e còmhla ri seinneadairean eile à Uibhist (a Tuath agus a Deas): Julie Fowlis, Mairead Callan agus Màiri NicAonghais.

’S mòr am beud nach robh sinn ann!

B’urrainn dhuibh agallamh a rinn sinn an uiridh le Gillebrìde a chluinntinn anns an t-siathamh program (Gaelcast #6) againn.

We see our friend Gillebrìde MacIlleMhaoil, who lives in Spain, returned to Scotland for “Celtic Connections” last month in Glasgow. He sang with other singers from Uist (North and South) : Julie Fowlis, Mairead Callan agus Màiri NicAonghais. It’s a great pity we weren’t there! You can listen to an interview with Gillebrìde in our sixth program.

Chuala sinn gu bheil ar caraid Seonachan Dembling na athair a-nise. Chaidh a nighean Dalia Eilidh a breith air an 19mh latha dhen Dùbhlachd.

Agus tha sinn glè-thoilichte chluinntinn gu bheil leanbh aig ar caraid Iseabail Nic an t-Sagairt à Ìle.

Mealaibh ur naidheachd!

B’urrainn dhuibh agallamh a rinn sinn le Seonachan a chluinntinn anns an ochdamh program (Gaelcast #8) againn, agus tha blog aig Seonachan cuideachd aig Chi Mi Bhuam. Èistibh a-rithist ri agallamh le Iseabail anns an t-seachdamh program (Gaelcast #7) de Ghaelcast.

We heard that our friend Jonathan Dembling is now a father. His daughter Dalia Eilidh was born Dec. 19. And we’re delighted to hear that Iseabail Nic an t-Sagairt of Islay has a baby. Congratulations!

You can listen to an interview with Jonathan in our eighth program, and to an interview with Iseabail in our sixth program.

Where does Gillebrìde live in Spain? I am curious as I am thinking to go live in Madrid again and would be delighted if there were to be a Gaidhlig speaker or two there!!

In Irish we say podcraoladh..can you not say that in Gaidhlig?

Dia dhuibh, a Dhiarmaid!

Tha Gillebride MacIlleMhaoil agus a bhean a’ fuireach ann an Vigo, Galicia.
Gillebride MacMillan and his wife Maite live in Vigo, Galicia.
B’urrainnear “podcraoladh” a radh sa Ghaidhlig cuideachd, ged nach fhaca ‘s nach cuala mi sin fhathast. Tha an aon chiall ann, co-dhiubh!

One could say “podcraoladh” in Scottish Gaelic as well, though I’ve neither seen nor heard it yet. It has the same sense, anyway!

We plan on introducing a new logo and new features to Gaelcast soon, and we’ll probably switch to “podcraolaidhean anns a’ Ghaidhlig.”

Moran taing!

For what it’s worth, I’ve made the Gaelcast programs ‘required listening’ for my Gaelic Study Group – Buidhean Obrach Ghàidhlig Chranberry – i.e. Cranberry B.O.G.

Tha sin sgoinneil, Harry. We’re glad our podcasts are helping Gaelic learners – and I love your group’s name.

Moran taing – we’re trying to make it as useful as possible and improve it.
